1149 remains one of the best places for any special occasion in the East Greenwich/Warwick area. I don't think I've had a bad meal here, whether it's lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch (the absolute best!!). It's located on Division Rd, less than one minute off 95 and across the street from the big Golds Gym-Dave's Marketplace plaza. There's a large lot around the rear of the restaurant and valet parking available during busier hours. They also accept reservations through open table (highly recommend for dinner and brunch). The food is excellent and you'll be hard pressed to find fault in your meal. I've enjoyed trying the short ribs, the pizzas, and the seafood (salmon, seafood risotto) and they were all delicious. The crown jewel of 1149 might have to be their Sunday brunch, which is all you can eat (and you better come hungry!!). It's $27 for adults and they have a jazz musician playing. The buffet has endless offerings of both breakfast and lunch options...baked goods, bacon, home fries, eggs, pancakes, waffles, french toast, fruit, granola, cinnamon buns, create your own omelet-pasta-egg Benedict stations, carving station, veggies, chicken, seafood, desserts and cakes galore...the list goes on! Is your mouth watering yet? It's hard to find a better place for a private event (bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, birthday, retirement party). They have a nice sized room in the year (could fit 30 at least) with its own bar and a private outdoor terrace. The room is also beautifully decorated that you can not have to worry about dealing with that. My bridal shower was held here and there was nothing but good things said by all of my friends and family about their experience here. The private events coordinator was also responsive and flexible in trying to make the event whatever the guests have envisioned. 1149 is also located right next to the movie theater (showcase cinema) so would work for a date night before or after the movies! Top choice in the area for certain!

Can there be less than 1 star? My fiancé had her bridal shower here and the service was terrible. The shower had 45 people with passed horsdoeuvres, signature drinks at every table, as well as buffet style food and desert. Can you guess how many servers were schedules? 1. That's right 1. For the entire night. 45 women to one server. The poor guy worked his butt off, but that's an impossible task. Also the ladies room ran out of toilet paper early on, and the mother of the bride was left to fix it because e limited staff was so overwhelmed. Worst part is when we complained, though they apologized, they did not see how only having o e server was an issue. We also paid for all the food, and though there were a ton of leftovers, the would not let us take them citing health code. Tough to see all that food go to waster, from a private party. It wasn't like an open Buffett. Bottom line if you want to host a private party that will make you want to pull your hair out, 1149 is for you.

I went here last weekend for brunch because I had heard really wonderful things about it. I was not disappointed in the food. Their brunch buffet is huge and offers something for everyone. I was also happy that it tasted good, as sometimes buffets can sit out too long and not be too tasty. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Live music was playing in the bar area, which was a nice touch. I was however, very disappointed in the service we received. We waited almost 10 minutes for our server to greet us after we were seated. He was very friendly and explained how the buffet worked and took the drink order, 2 Bloody Mary's, an Orange juice and a coffee. This was the last time we saw the waiter. While we were gone to get our food, the drinks were brought to the table. He never checked on us to see how everything was or if we wanted more to drink. Bus boys removed our plates as we finished. We would have ordered more cocktails, if he had returned. We asked another server from a different table to refill our waters and for more coffee. When we wanted our check, again we had to ask another server to find our waiter to bring it to us. He was a ghost the entire meal, at $26/plate it would have been nice for him to check in, make sure things are going well and see if we want anything else to drink.

Nastiest expensive meal yet!! Lets start out with 3 of the dirtiest oysters that i have ever had in my life... Nice presentation but for god sake rinse the darn things!!! Chowder was good...... Wife got the chicken parm. Let me tell you this is hard to screw up... They did! The chicken was chewy and had a burnt taste to it... The sauce tasted like it was out of a can and was also sub par. Worse chicken parm in RI i think ihop would have been better! I had the the short rib... The rib itself had flavor on top but not all the way through. I took out at least two large pieces of fat from the nice display it came. Potatoes were good but come on you could take 30 seconds to trim the damn beans!!! Grandma had the lobster ravioli... No complaints at all.... Desert.... Creme brûlée..... Scrambled eggs with sugar in them! Nasty nasty nasty! Grandma had the mini apple dolce thing that was good also.... So for a 105.00 bill we got a bowl of soup Ravioli Mini apple desert..... Final recommendation go someplace else! Food is nasty i would have rather have had fast food!

Man...I don't know what it was, but I really didn't enjoy my dinner here. I came on a business event, and had our meal pretty much preset. I had the chowder, sampled some salad, tried the complimentary bread basket, and had the salmon. Of all of the dishes, only the salmon was decent; it was cooked with just a hint of pink and to be honest, I've forgotten the rest. The salad was very basic and lacked any charm aside from iceberg lettuce and a few other extra greens. The chowder was incredibly salty and I left the entire bowl barely touched as a result. The service was very friendly and polite, as I would expect from a highly viewed establishment, but even their cheery disposition could not change what the food tasted like. I did not try the brunch, which people seem very found of...maybe next time?

BRUNCH. Thats it. Thats all you need to know. I've never been to Eleven Forty Nine for any other meal besides brunch (I would like to go though). The all you can eat brunch buffet on Sundays is my favorite thing ever. The food is so good and there is tons of it, lots of options for everyone. You can opt for bottomless mimosas... thats right.. BOTTOMLESS! And they are delish! It's $27 for brunch and its worth it. My friend and I go every once in a while, it's definitely something to splurge on. Go, enjoy, tell them I sent you.. They won't know who you're talking about but hey, why not?

My last review of 1149 was 4 stars and that still remains as it is quite the buffet brunch. The fifth star hangs on the tea charge. Having enjoyed the brunch once again, I learned that the reason why there was an additional charge for tea on my previous visit is that only plain tea is included and I ordered herbal tea. So that explains it - hmm....elegant restaurant, great buffet, and a $4.00 charge for herbal tea that is not very much more expensive than the cost of ordinary tea.

Went here for dinner tonight! Waitstaff were extremely knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. Everything was cooked to perfection and came out hot! Wish I had the cash flow to come here every week - expensive but you pay for what you get, and that's excellence all around!

It's been almost a year since I Yelp'ed about 1149, and since then it's become our go to restaurant. The menus change at least seasonally, so there's never a chance of getting bored (although we have shown a bias towards ordering their short ribs pretty frequently). Last night, right after a movie next door at the Showcase Cinema, we called in a take out order, which was ready ten minutes after we walked in the door. The food was well-packed, travelled well, and as always, the food was superb. Hubby ordered the Beet Napolean and, yeah, the short ribs accompanied by mashed potatoes and green beans. I got the baby spinach salad and the baked penne with vodka sauce. Everything we had was absolutely and amazingly delicious. They also included a lovely loaf of bread with yummy roasted pepper butter. We would have dined in but it was Ava-the-Wheaten Terrier's dinner time, too, and didn't want to keep our poochie waiting!! I just want to add that we have NEVER ever had a bad meal at 1149. :D

First time here with my family and in-laws and I can say it was amazing. Of course I'm the only one at the table who currently can't drink so that was a little depressing but I hear all the drinks were great, from the wine to sangria and martini's. There were 8 of us so we had a large variety of meals that I don't need to elaborate on but I don't think anyone left a single piece of anything on their place. Nuff said. I started with the Spinach Salad topped with shrimp which was very very good and I had the Pork Taco app as my main entree - large baby = small belly. My food was amazing. Our table ranged from chicken to short ribs to steak and fish. For dessert, I had one of the "mini" treats, Tiramisu which was JUST enough for my and was so delicious. Even though we were a larger group, I felt like we were secluded yet out in the open, I thought the table was perfect for us. The restaurant was HUGE and felt like it kept going and going. I didn't see the bar, but did see two party rooms both of which had parties going on. There was a lag between when we placed our order and when we received our salads/appetizers but we also weren't in a rush. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. I can't say a bad thing about this place and would love to come back another time - perhaps when I can partake in an adult drink!

Sunday Brunch is wonderful! Even better because kids 12 and under are free in August! We were seated right away and our server, Michelle, was right there ready to help us get started. In addition to all the selections in the hot and cold buffet, was a menu of omelettes and other speciality items made to order. Water glasses were promptly filled and dirty plates were removed quickly. Great team work. $26.99 per person is a little pricey but I'm pretty sure no one will need to eat for the rest of the day. I would definitely go again.

I really wanted to love it here tonight seeing as there are not many non chain options within a few minutes of the Marriott/Comfort Suites... But I sat at the bar and was largely ignored. I finished my app (with no one checking on me after receiving it from a food runner) and then had to wait for 12 minutes after I finished to order my entree and another glass of wine. It looked like between 2 bartenders they had 10 tables and the entire bar, including service bar. The man on one side of me waited just as long to even get a menu to order take out. The food was all great, wine was on the expensive side by the glass, but what a disappointment in service at this price range. These bartenders are clearly experienced enough to know the customers were suffering and they should have asked for help from the management staff. I believe there was a wine event going on in a different room, but why wouldn't a manager offer to help the bar staff when they are this under staffed/back logged? I'd like to be clear it the bartenders did their best when stretched so thin, but their best was not good enough for the price range. A manager should have been there to help or a server should have been added to the bar tables to help out. All in all, I would say above average food, below average service. To the bartenders' credit, they were upbeat the entire time (when I saw them). Atmosphere was great, and it's far better than most other local chain restaurants, but I would rank Meritage (similarly priced) and Siena (higher priced) much higher on my list.

My review is specifically regarding the brunch buffet. It's award-winning, and I can see why. The quality of the food is very good. Everything from smoked salmon to prime rib justifies the slightly higher-than-normal price tag. You can select omelets and eggs Benedict to order (although in our case it took a while for it to arrive), breakfast and lunch items and a variety of pastries in between. In all honesty, I think the brunch buffet is really only worth it if you have a big appetite and take advantage of the more expensive items. If you show up and only get scrambled eggs and bacon, it's very much a waste for nearly $27. The quality of the food overall is very good, and like I said, if you have the appetite to back it up, it can be worth it. I'm not sure that I personally would return for brunch just because I don't typically go for buffet style meals. My appetite is usually satisfied by a single order of food, although having the choice of variety never hurts. I recently attended a baby shower in the private back room at Eleven Forty Nine and thought it was a lovely space for private events. Whether it's for brunch or dinner, I would definitely consider hosting an event here. The staff was accommodating and helpful. For the quality and variety of food at the brunch buffet, and the awesome private space for events, I'm giving Eleven Forty Nine 4 stars, but could easily award 3 stars instead because the price of the buffet is higher than I'd likely pay for a typical brunch (especially if cocktails are not included in the price)

This restaurant does not allow it's customers to split their bills. The waiter told us we are not allow to split our bills and gave us some really bullshit excuse, citing the order came from their manager. Otherwise, food is underwhelming. There are lots of good restaurants around, skip this...why heck...even McDonald's will allow you to split your bills.

I was involved with planning a baby shower that was hosted at 1149! We wanted a late Spring date and they were pretty booked up so be sure to start planning your event early here. We ended up going with the larger room in the back, we had about 45 guests. The Mother's decided on the brunch buffet with what seemed liked unlimited mimosas. From the french toast to the penne in vodka sauce everything was delicious. Everyone was finishing off their plates. The service was also wonderful, drinks were always filled and dirty plates were removed promptly. I would recommend 1149 if you are looking for a great place to host your next event.

went for a family party last weekend. decent looking and clean and offered valet parking (completely unnecessary) . we had a large party and depite what others reviewers wrote, the service was the best thing about this restaurant. appetizers were healthy portion size but very average. table bread was very generic buttery dinner roll like bread. nothing special for a nicer restaurant. i ordered the large salad which was large but drenched in heavy oil dressing that made it inedible. my daughter ordered chicken parm and that was again huge portion size but beyond marginal. not quality food but made up for it in ginormous portion size. quantity over quality at 1149. (it was as if my local pizza place served their food in larger portions in that setting. but honest my local pizza place has much better quality food.) bottom line if you are expecting a fancy upper end restaurant find someplace else. big portions. beyond marginal food. maybe it's meant as a bunch place. but not a fancy four or three star restaurant.

The restaurant has a cold atmosphere to it. Food is average and very-much overpriced. My wife and I recently went to 1149 for Sunday brunch, and the hostess was shocked that we didn't have a reservation (there were several empty seats). She said she probably could accommodate us by giving us a table in the corner. Very snooty and pretentious. She commented that they have the best and ONLY breakfast buffet I the area (Ruby Tuesdays has an excellent one across the street). In all fairness, the brunch was good, but we ended up paying $50 if not more for breakfast. There are much better restaurants in the area that serve better food for a more reasonable price.

I visited 1149 last night for the first time with my husband and a group of our friends. After reading the many lackluster-to-moderate reviews, I was not expecting to be wowed. However, the food, ambiance, and the staff's competent, professional manner exceeded my expectations. The service throughout the evening was competent, with minimal interruptions. The pause between courses was a bit longer than you'd expect at say, Chili's, but certainly in keeping with the cadence of a more refined meal. For appetizers, we sampled the antipasto platter, pork wantons, steak skewers, and traditional hummus. All were delicious and well-plated, but the unassuming hummus stole the show. It was perfectly seasoned...almost buttery. For entrees, we chose the Asian salad with salmon and the 10 oz. flatiron steak with slab bacon hash (slab bacon...mmmm....). The salad was substantial and refreshing, and nicely complementing the perfectly grilled salmon. The steak was well cooked, if a little rare for his liking, but the hash was to die for! Dessert selections include the standard fare as well as a few intriguing house-made offerings. I went for the special, a triple-chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. He had the flourless chocolate torte. Both were tasty, if not exceptional. Great atmosphere, competent staff, beautiful and tasty menu selections, okay dessert offerings. I would definitely visit 1149 again!

Today, my four friends and I went to brunch at 1149. Our server was perfectly nice, attentive, and knowledgeable. This review is in NO way a reflection of her or her service. This review is about the manager and/or the policies from upper management that this young man was attempting to follow. He is a 20-something kid who does NOT know how to handle himself or his customers when he is working a busy brunch and responsible for handling MANY tables and customers at once. I worked in the restaurant industry for 11 years and have had to be in the SAME position as him before. Sometimes tables stay too long. You need to turn them over. This is an example of what NOT to do: This is what happened: Our table showed up at 10:30 - we didn't even start eating our brunch until 11. One of the people (me) in our party was late. We got drinks (coffee, tea, virgin bloody mary, etc), and 4 buffet - this equals about 130 dollars. We were celebrating a friend's birthday. By 12 noon - we were working out the bill though our friend, whose birthday it was, was still enjoying her dessert. 12:30 we had paid and were chatting. It was clear, given that we had paid that we would be leaving soon. The manager came up to the table, placed his hands on the back of a chair seat and said, "Hi ladies, sorry to do this, but we have other people waiting for this table. Ya know, reservations? We can move you to a different table if you would like." Silence for a moment and I said, "Could you give us five minutes?" My friend had a spoon raised to her mouth - she WASN'T DONE eating. He considers me for a moment and then says, "Yea...I guess I can give you five minutes." I'm sorry - did we NOT pay 130 bucks? Did we not PAY for the meal? Clearly we were on our way. Wasn't someone still eating? Furthermore, what about tact? It is not your customer's responsibility to worry about YOUR table arrangement. Furthermore, it CAN BE no big deal to ask people to leave a table, IF in TURN the establishment offers them an appeasement. Such as: free drinks, a voucher for a buffet, etc.,SOMETHING. What we were offered was an indignant "okay, I guess," when we asked for five more minutes to finish up. The shrug, closed eyes, and "I suppose" attitude was the offensive part. He behaved as though he was doing us some kind of favor by letting us sit in our seats for five more minutes. While we didn't have a cake or presents on the table, we were celebrating too and our celebration of our friend's birthday was awesome until this happened. I will never EVER come back to 1149. While this manager was attempting to make money for his establishment and turn tables over, he lost 4 customers today. I hope it was worth it, pal. Maybe you'll learn to speak to people who have spent 165 ish (with tip) at your establishment with a bit more tact. People who said, literally five minutes before you came over, that we would like to come back for dinner or drinks. You blew it.

Not impressed. Had a light meal at the bar with my wife recently. Service is distracted, but not too bad. The pork dumplings were pre-made frozen nuggets of bleh. The bottled bbq sauce served in a ramekin for them didn't elevate the dumplings beyond what they clearly were. These definitely put the 'dump' in dumplings. We tried one of the pizzas - the Margherita. Beyond the fact that the owners don't even know how to properly spell Margherita (named for an Italian queen). There wasn't any basil on it, and it was just bland overall. The restaurant itself is decorated in a sort of Cranston-meets-New Jersey Italianate style. Nice place for a drink I suppose but it's not my style.

Way too slow.... They had a wedding there and full house. As a result, waiting 2 hrs for food. Food was decent but wait was inexcusable. I would check out other places first given the wait.

My husband and I dined there last night. For a Thursday, it was pretty busy. We were seated right away and the waitress came to our table. We ordered a bottle of Robert Mondavi Private Reserve for $32. It seemed like a decent wine for the price. However, our waitress proceeds to up sell us a different bottle, the most expensive on their wine list for $46. I mean, really? It's not that we asked for a suggestion! We specifically ordered that bottle! I mean are they required to do so? The restaurant is pretty prominent, I didn't think employees have to go to such extent! For my entree I ordered a large Cranberry Spinach salad with a side of grilled veggies. The veggies were good, but my salad contained a tiny dollop of goat cheese and one sliver of avocado. The only other ingredients in my $9 salad were almond slivers, cranberries and spinach. When I asked for more avocado, I was rationed 2 more slivers. Again, wtf??? My husband opted for a 10 oz Flat Iron Steak. The waitress was able to up-sell (again) the meat to be wrapped in bacon. ($4 for one piece of bacon). The hash that came with the meat was sliced very thin and didn't seem to have been cooked properly through. The side of spinach that we ordered was very oily and flavorless. However, my husband was relatively pleased with the steak. Lastly, the bread basket lacked the usual diversity. Long gone are the days of corn bread! The waitress tried to get us to order more food, such as soups and baked stuffed shrimp, and of course, the dessert. She also forgot to pour us more wine after the initial pour. At that point, we grabbed what was left of the wine, poured it in our glasses ourselves and went to the bar to finish off the night. I don't know what;s happening to you, 1149. This recession does not suit you well! Also, please train your employees to be a little more tactful.

Tends to vacillate over time from really top notch to maybe not so much. That being said, I have never had a bad experience there. I love their burgers and pizza. I know those are not their bread and butter items, but they are done really well. Their deserts over the past year have really shown improvements, both in flavor and in creativity. It is worth going in just to have dessert and coffee. Even their homemade ice cream is something to try. They come up with some crazy flavors that work. A couple months ago they had a Maple Bacon ice cream, and yes, if you did not try it, you should have. I love the weekend buffet but I do think it is a bit over priced. Makes it tough to justify going except on special occasion.

Wonderful atmosphere, excellent food, and outstanding service. We met some friends here on a Tuesday and pigged out on the appetizer menu. Everything was excellent. The waiter, Michael, was attentive and patient. We will definitely return next time we're in town.

I went for Sunday brunch and was solidly underwhelmed. There are so many excellent restaurants in the area for breakfast and there's no particular reason to choose this one. It's a buffet, which is cool, but I'd suggest you come hungry as you'll need to EAT to get your money's worth. You could get a pleasant breakfast for two elsewhere for the price of the buffet for one here. There are also few waitstaff around. It's clear that management has the staff at a minimum number to maximize profit for this event. As a result, drink orders got bungled and plates took a long while to clear when I was there. Our poor waitress looked frazzled and felt rushed and all of the other staff seemed the same. I'll echo the attitude from the hostess comment as well. She made it seem like we were getting an audience with the Pope instead of a table at a buffet when we were seated. I've worked buffets before as a server, so I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to staff having a bad day. I've been here twice for family events, she acted the same way both times. The only thing that got this place 3 stars for me was that the food is decent, and that there are a few food items that are pretty good. Their cinnamon rolls especially are nice and they will make a solid omelet for you. I'm at a loss as to why this place is so popular for brunch. If you decide to eat here, come with a full wallet, sharp elbows, and an empty stomach.

I'm an anytime breakfast eater and decided to splurge and try the brunch at the 1149. I was pleasantly surprised and not just because the food was excellent, but rather because our server was very attentive to my husband and I. I tend to be picky with my food and at times find it difficult to eat place because there are certain things I can't eat. I was worried that I wasn't going to get my money's worth! My husband was certainly happy with the selection of food and surprised himself with filling his plate twice and not because he felt that he was spending the money anyway, but because the food was delicious. The server asked me what I couldn't have and made suggestions that would suit me. Well done! I enjoined my meal and the atmosphere. I felt that my money was well spent for great quality food that you would not get at a Ruby Tuesdays or Fridays. My husband and I are the kind of people that don't mind spending the money on fresh quality food that is cooked well. I well certainly return to enjoy another brunch in the future.

We saw Eleven Forty Nine several times while driving to the only Trader Joe's in Rhode Island and thought it looked like a nice place. When I saw their advertisement in a magazine that included a brunch buffet, we decided to stop in. The decor is lovely; chandeliers, dark woods and crisp linens. Our server, Melissa was absolutely wonderful; our water glasses and coffee cups were never empty, and she even took time to make small talk while I sat alone at the table for a time. That said, for $25/person, I expected a little bit of higher quality of food. The bacon was cooked properly, the sausages were moist and flavorful and the horseradish cream sauce for the beef roast was delicious. After that, we found it to be severely underseasoned and lacking any depth of flavor. The pork roast was overcooked to the point that the chutney could not rescue it. The caramelized onion breakfast potatoes were bland and the grilled veggies mushy and limp. I've somewhat come to expect this type of experience here in RI; the places with terrible service have wonderful food, and those with a pleasant ambiance and attentive staff seem to be missing out in the flavor department. Sad to say we probably won't return.

Went for lunch yesterday, first time there. Exceptional service, generous portions ($16 for filet mignon, mashed potatoes and mixed grilled veggies); hubby had chicken parm for $15). We shared the clam cakes as an appetizer, which were small and very tasty. Allie was an excellent server who offered a tour of the other rooms of the restaurant . Before a table was ready for us, we had a glass of wine at the bet and the bartenders were personable and not over the top. Already made reservations to go next weekend when our son comes for a visit!

Food here is good, on average, some dishes better than others. We had the pork tenderloin and it was very moist, well seasoned and flavorful. Others got the Statler chicken breast and they complained about being dry and tough....even though on the outside it looked nicely grilled and it smelled fantastic. I have had their fish and steaks and they have been very good also. Service is usually prompt and courteous. Good place to have a nice meal in Warwick.

1149 needs a review broken in three: cocktails, dinner, and brunch. Cocktails can be a great opportunity to see the Cougars of Warwick in action on weekends if you're willing to be 2-3 deep at the bar, but on weeknights, it's actually a relatively chill place to chat with a friend and watch sports (albeit somewhat passively - they're not enormous screens). Drinks are expensive here, but at least for scotch and most other liquor, pours are also exceptionally generous, to the tune of about double most places, so temper expectations (and sobriety) accordingly. Dinner (and lunch) are tasty if a little pricey, and while I don't feel the menu changes very frequently, there is a good amount of both variety and consistency. Brunch is a good reason to head to 1149. The smooth jazz guitar always paints a wry smile on my face when I walk in, but from there, I know what to do and I fall into routine. Get seated, grab food for the kids (who are plenty welcome here), order at the omelet station, grab other elements from a few other stations, and settle in for a fulfilling meal. An hour later, everyone feels full and happy. There are some drawbacks of each piece, and parking, despite a big lot, can sometimes still be challenging on busy nights, but I round up to four stars.

On a recent Saturday, my husband wanted to get out of Providence for dinner. We didn't feel like driving all the way to Newport, plus we had a party to stop by at in East Greenwich, so we decided to have dinner in East Greenwich right after afterwards. I love East Greenwich- it's a far enough drive from Providence so it feels like we're really going on a trip, but it's close enough to get there in twenty minutes! Our restaurant of choice was 1149, since it had availability on Opentable and the menu was varied enough so that as a vegetarian, I would have plenty of options. 1149 is a really nice place- it is casual, but classy, and has a vibe about it that makes it feel like a special night out. It seems all the diners there were celebrating something or just really set on having a great time! Anyway, the menu, like I said is pretty vast- 1149 features pretty classic American menu offerings with an Italian twist including grilled pizzas, salads, pastas, burgers, meat and seafood dishes. Our waiter was great- as soon as we sat down, he took our drink orders and brought us a bread basket. This, however, was no ordinary bread basket- it featured three different kinds of bread (olive, multigrain and Italian) served warm with whipped butter. It's so rare to find a restaurant these days that serves warm, fresh bread, so needless to say, I was very happy with it! The olive bread was the best! I was torn between ordering a pizza/salad combo, a bunch of apps including spinach artichoke dip, or a baked pasta dish that sounded delicious. I have been pretty off pasta lately, but having it baked with pink vodka sauce and smothered with cheeses sounded quite appealing. I just had pizza and salad the night before, so in efforts to have some variety, I ended up with the baked ziti dish. It was definitely the right choice. This dish was amazing! The pasta was perfectly al dente and the pink vodka sauce was so creamy! The best part though was the bubbling cheese and the pasta bites that were engulfed in a cheesy crust. It was also huge, and I ate a little less than half. My husband also tried a few bites and loved it, so much so that he had some later that night when we got home. I simply must order fries whenever I go out, and their shoestring fries with truffle mayo were fresh, hot and crispy. The portion size was generous, yet my husband and I still managed to take them down. I don't like mayo, so I stuck with ketchup but my husband really enjoyed the truffle flavor. I haven't had dessert in a restaurant since February. I have been so stuck on Crumbs cupcakes that we tend to scram out of restaurants and eat dessert at home. My choices included molten lava cake, bread pudding, creme brule, and a flourless chocolate cake. I went with the warm bread pudding, which came with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. It was delicious- not eggy at all, which is my worst fear with bread pudding- and it tasted like a Cinnabon! Three words about 1149: yum, yum, yum! I had been there about five years ago and didn't think it was very memorable at all, but this time around, I was impressed. It definitely earned a spot on our restaurant rotation.

I have heard a lot about this place from my co-workers and from a hotel that I stayed in close to the restaurant. We went there for lunch. It started okay, but we noticed we were waiting a long time for the server to first welcome us, a long time to get our drinks, a long time to come back and take our order, a long time to get our food and our drinks were never refilled. When it came time to get the check, I kept waiting for the server to come by and start to get the bill ready. After 20 minutes, I hunted her down. She said she would bring it. Over five minutes later, she brought the bill. She never came back for my credit card. I chased her down to give her my card. A different server then brought the credit card signature receipt for me to sign... They charged my credit card to a different table. Once I realized this, I had to go find the server and explain this, which took a long time for the server to understand what mistake she made. Once she understood, she only said "oops" and not much more. She then gave me a new credit receipt to sign at her station and then walked away to take care of a table. So how was the food? It was great! I loved it, but I just don't know if the food was so good that I would return if I am going to have these issues and problems. I would love to return for a salad my co-worker had... Just not worth the hassle though. Good Luck!

I went there with a client of mine. While the company was great, the service was among the worst I have had in a while. The waiter brought us our menus, and didn't return for 20 minutes (I was checking my watch). He took an appetizer order (Spinach dip that was, in all honesty, terrible)-Neither my client or myself liked it. He returned AFTER we had eaten some appetizer (again, approximately 20 minutes), and took our order. He told us about the special, then proceeded to tell us it was not available. We both ended up ordering the scallops and risotto, which were good, and worth ordering again. However, it took another 20 minutes to get our food. The waiter did not check on us once, did not refill our water glasses, or drinks, and stood around chatting with others there (I know this because he was standing directly behind our table.) It was dark inside the restaurant, and a loud noise level (although to be fair, there was a large table (about 20 people) close by. Parking was next to impossible (and it wasn't even a weekend). All in all, the food was not good enough to make me want to return....

We went for brunch and plan on going again. A bit pricey but LOTS of selection and high quality. We had A LOT of food: waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs, home style potatoes, pasta with pink sauce, clam chowder, fresh fruit, red velvet cupcakes, and tiramisu. We def got our moneys worth :)

Worse service ever! Food was good but definitely not worth the price! There is no reason one bowl of soup and 3 salads should take over 40 mins to reach the table. Had to ASK the waiter 3 times for our bread AFTER he claimed 'it'll be right out'. Ordered plain pasta with little butter and no parsley for our picky daughter. We had to wait about an hour for a bowl of pasta drenched in butter and covered in parsley! We ordered the pasta before our soup and salad and still had to remind the waiter after he delivered our salads that we were still waiting for my daughters pasta. I actually asked the waiter if he quit on us after a looooong time between seeing him. Not recommended!

I enjoy the decor in here, but that's it. I just find the food and the service to be average. The brunch is nice on Sundays, but for what you pay for and the quality of food. It just doesn't really add up.

I went here today for Sunday brunch and it was great. I was in bacon and cinnamon roll heaven! They even gave us complimentary cocktails for being patient. I will be in a food coma for a week! A very awesome food coma.

This review is an average of multiple visits. Best advice to give is to circle the parking lot before you commit to it. They do a lot of events, and do them very well, but unfortunately this can have an adverse impact on the dining room. If there's an event during brunch, just turn around cause you can expect a backed up buffet line. So why 4 stars? You go on the right day and get the right server, and this place has value written all over it. The kitchen is consistently on their game, and anyone who complains about food is probably ordering the wrong thing (any negative Yelps about chicken parm should automatically be null and void). The prices are reflective of the quality of product that the kitchen uses, so it's definitely worth the price. The service is hit or miss though. The hits are out of the park, the misses suggest that they hire anyone who din't make the cut at Ruby Tuesdays up the street. Overall, I'd recommend this for weekday dining only. Under the right conditions, this place has it going for them, but visiting on a busy Friday or Saturday runs the risk of having an experience uncharacteristic of their potential.

We hit up 1149 for brunch this morning and were not disappointed. The brunch has EVERYTHING on it. We felt a bit underdressed for a Sunday morning, but nobody cast an errant eye in our direction as we planted ourselves at the bar. The bottomless mimosa deal for $10 is the bomb. Bar service was friendly even though the guy was definitely busy. The brunch was off the hook with all the breakfast staples, plus carving station (some of the best restaurant roast ever, melt in your mouth with excellent horseradish cream), waffles, parfaits, fruit, and a dessert table that was larger than the one at my wedding. The food quality? Besides slightly wet scrambled eggs and dry-ish carved pork lion, everything else was fantastic. We ate until we were stuffed, buzzy from the mimosas, and very happy. I totally recommend 1149 for brunch. I didn't pay, so I can't comment on value, but I was impressed by the bottomless mimosa deal. Beautiful restaurant, good service, great brunch.

I can't believe I forgot to review Eleven Forty Nine. My GF and I headed here after spending time with my family and it is on our way home. After living in Southern RI for most of my life, I am surprised I have never been to EFN since it opened. So we hit it up for restaurant weeks to try it out. Wow, very very nice restaurant. Definitely not of the hum drum chain restaurants you see in the Warwick area. I personally started my dinner off with signature New England Clam Chowder. EFN did not screw this up, it was a nice creamy but not too thick chowder. Then for my entree I went with Steak Frites. Their potato strings with the steak really make this a great dish. The beef was cooked just right and boy was it tender. Dessert I went with a Peanut Butter Cup which was everything you could think of that was peanuts, butter and cup all in a dish. It was small but guess what, it was the right size for the large entree what you eat. Our server was actually very laid back but attentive (as weird as that sounds), one of the better servers I have had in the area. The restaurant was nice and open but I can see the bar area being very busy on weekends. If you are anywhere near the area I highly recommend EFN.

Wife and I enjoyed Monday night dinner @ 1149. Enjoyed the wine on 1/2 price Bottle night on Monday's. Took advantage of RI law that let us bring open bottle home. Server was very professional and on-top of her game. Unfortuntely dinner took too long to be served. Waitress even apologized on her own without a comment from me. Restaurant wasn't too busy, it was Monday. but it would have been more professional for manager/ head chef/owner etc... to visit our table to apologize for kitchen issues. Especially with premium entree prices Food was excellent had lamb, but it wasn't a rack as advertised only consisted of two chops, rack has eight................ We also enjoyed the spring rolls for appetizer. Downgraded my review

Came here on Father's Day, without my father (he was in NJ). The place was quite packed for Sunday brunch, of course. The place itself was quite nice, and felt somewhat fancy. Service was good, friendly, and efficient. Selection for the buffet was quite good - really good bacon, sausage, potatoes, veggies, cold stuff like fruit, yogurt, etc. Everything you could ask for. There was shrimp cocktail, prime rib, turkey, and ham at their carving station. The omelet and pasta station was manned well and was also very good. That is where you get your eggs made - no station for that. But was disappointed that the french toast was perpetually missing. They had a station for that, but it was always empty. Also, only coffee is included in the price. For $33 per person, that is quite ridiculous. I know it is Father's Day pricing, but seriously? I don't know how many people can get their "money's worth" (typical American, I know). And finally, on a table for 5, did not like the auto gratuity on the bill. It's a buffet - I'm serving myself, why do I have to tip 18%? Doesn't make sense to me. I am fine with tipping, but really dislike the auto gratuity - gratuity is optional, not mandatory (even though, it generally is considered). Earn the tip as a server! I can say these things, I used to hustle as a waiter. Miss it actually. $190 total for 4 adults and a child. This should not have cost as much as Minado's dinner menu - only one seafood item. Should've been $125 at the very most.

Excellent experience. Had a great dinner on a Date. The Hummus and Pita bread appetizer was great. Pita's were perfectly cooked. I had the Chicken Parmesan dinner and it was great and quite filling. Could not eat the whole thing. my Date had a Salad with some Tuna on top. She really loved it. Would defiantly come back here in the future.

I could never tell what kind of restaurant 1149 was. Every time I drove by the one in East Greenwich I wondered what it actually was and why they had blue police lights flashing for decoration. Yes, they used to do that. They might still do it. I have no idea. Generally, I avoided the place. I don't know why, I just did. The only reason I went there the other night was because I got a gift card. Its an unwritten rule that when you get a restaurant gift card, you go all out and order whatever you want, sometimes things you don't need because who cares! Its on someone else's dime. That's exactly what I did and it was great. I was actually surprised at how much I liked everything at this place. No, not just because it was a gift card experience, but because I generally really enjoyed everything. My friend and I sat in a booth surrounded by decorative trees and lights. It had a nice ambiance to it and we got comfortable right away by ordering a couple cocktails. I got a caramel cookie martini. The caramel-coconut rim was a nice touch. For our appetizer we got the cheese board. It came with crackers, honey, nuts and a really good assortment of cheeses. It was actually a lot more food than I expected for a cheese plate. The honey that came with it was so good. Tasted local? maybe? Anyways for my entree I ordered the orange-teriyaki salmon. Very very good dish. The salmon was cooked well and had good flavor and I enjoyed the rice it came with. The presentation was nice too. For dessert we ordered a chocolate lava cake. I cannot resist a chocolate lava-cake from anywhere. Its a problem because I was definitely full at that point of the meal but we got dessert anyways. It was also delicious. Overall everything was on a good level. It almost reminded of a "Cheesecake Factory" type restaurant - with a different color scheme. But good overall, I'll definitely share it with a few people its a nice little spot. I do wish it wasn't almost on the highway but oh well. Good eats.

Went for a dinner celebration with a group of 10. Food was good, but can't say anything was out of this world. We shared several appetizers, and i picked at a few other entrees - nothing to complain about, but it's 3 weeks later and i can't remember one specific plate. Those that ordered them (ok - the ladies, but i'm trying not to stereotype) seemed to enjoy their selection of cocktails. Service was friendly and fairly attentive, but i did wonder why our waiter spoke so slowly when he first took our orders (think snuffaluffagus from sesame street). Thankfully someone must have slipped him some five-hour energy, by the time our food came he seemed like a normal human being.

Do NOT recommend this restaurant. I wrote the manager about my issue and was basically told they do everything perfect and ignored. Very disappointed as are my family and friends that they seem to be above trying to make something right when they messed up.

Went for dinner last night to celebrate my husband and I tying the knot! We made a reservation a few weeks in advance and they happily made a note in their book it would be for our wedding meal. They not only called to confirm our reservation the day before, but also told us they had set aside a romantic corner booth. When we arrived, we ordered two cocktails, we both got the Coconut Crusher. Amazing! So delicious and fun. We also ordered two appetizers, the carpaccio for him, and the calamari for myself. Both were out of this world and the waitstaff kept the delicious rolls and whipped butter plentiful. For dinner he ordered the seafood special of the night, which was assorted shellfish and shrimp, scallops, etc in a broth with crostini. I ordered the Filet Mignon with ancho chili butter. We also ordered the recommended wine, Geyser Peak Cabernet, which was well worth the expense. He said the seafood was good, but not as good as other seafood stews he's had. My filet mignon was super flavorful but overcooked ( I ordered it medium well and it came out very well done). The chili butter with herbs and the mashed potatoes helped give some moisture back to the meat though, and I did enjoy it regardless. We each got dessert as well. He got the vanilla creme brulee and I got the keylime tequila cheesecake. Both were amazing, some of the best desserts I've had at a restaurant. That plus the last of the wine really finished off the meal nicely! The service was excellent. The server achieved that fine balance between being attentive and available for requests, yet out of sight enough to enjoy a private meal. He came by every so often to top off our glasses with wine, and that was a nice gesture. Overall, was a great experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a great night out. It is on the expensive side, but for special occasions, it really is a great place!

1149...Solid Spot for Lunchtime A client comes in. They're hungry. Texas Roadhouse is down the road and if it's their birthday, they can ride a bull. Nah...need a place more professional. Heard McDonalds is getting the McRib back! ...yeah you're right...we can't go there either. Oh wait...let's go to 1149! This place is our go-to for business lunches. The atmosphere and the staff are very professional and know the clientele that choose to dine there. The prices aren't too outrageous for lunchtime and the portions are pretty generous. Also, every sandwich/burger plate has a heap of thin french fries that becomes a challenge within itself to finish. We made reservations beforehand for our group to make sure we had a table and the manager came up to us shortly before we left to thank us for choosing 1149. If you're trying to impress someone out of town and are looking for a great lunch spot, hit up 1149 and you won't be disappointed.

Waitress was the highlight, she was attentive and knowledgable. Food was OK...Party of 10, 6+4. Wait was WAY TOO LONG. 2+hrs on a Wed. at 5:15 is unacceptable. Wanted dessert but...Thank goodness the 4 kids were good. This was supposed to be a big deal for my in laws anniversary. Would think long and hard before returning.

Met a friend for lunch today. We enjoyed ourselves in the lovely, upscale atmosphere. The server, Dan, was primo: pleasant, cute and attentive. Although the bartender was not certain how to make a St Germaine martini, the concoction she made nearly knocked me out, do pardon any spelling errors. We both had spinach salad. I asked for it with no nuts because of an allergy, which the kitchen and manager let me know they were conscious of during the preparation. The blackened tuna was good, as was the shrimp my friend added to her salad. At $10 per item added to the $8 salad, I felt it was a bit pricey, though everything was fresh, as it certainly should be when you have lunch at dinner prices. The decor is sharp and modern with dark wood and gray upholstery, along with some trendy masculine accents, like antelope fur panels on the walls. I can't tell you how much I hope these are faux, but they felt pretty real. Yes, I touched them, I'm like that. We split a molten lava cake for dessert, with ice cream. The ice cream didn't have the rich flavor I expected when billed as vanilla bean. I suspect the cake was made in the microwave as the cake portion had a rubbery texture when chewing it. The flavor was ok though. Overall, it was a decent lunch in a stylish surrounding. The service added a nice pampered feeling to the experience.

Like advertised. Voted BEST LUNCH! Very tasty and beautiful restaurant. We went at 11:30 lunch with our 3 yr old, very kid friendly. We ordered pizza, dumplings, and a sandwich with fries . The fries were falling off the plate there were so many! Can't wait to go back again.

I have been here once before, and from what I understand, this location is much better than the Seekonk location. Brittney was our server, and I will have to give her credit for tolerating our boisterous dinner. She was pleasant and attentive, and I would definitely ask for her in the future. We brought in our own wine, for which there was a $20 corkage fee, but that is pretty standard. We started with a cheese board and some spinach and artichoke dip. The cheese board was good, and my lady enjoyed the dip. For the dinner, she ordered the penne pasta and I ordered the lamb. The penne pasta is a dish that if she doesn't order it, she always comments that she should have, so we know the pasta is delicious. My lamb chops were delicious and perfectly cooked, but I thought the portion was small. A rack of lamb is eight bones, and a half rack is four bones. So, I don't know where my five bones was sitting, but it was called a rack, so I though there would be more. Everyone in our party had a wonderful time, so it's a solid option if you're in this area. Enjoy!

From the many reviews I have read about 1149, I was hoping my first visit would live up to the expectation. Unfortunately, at my visit it did not. I was dining alone and as I always do, choose the bar to have my meal. I was greeted by the bartender and I ordered a Sam's Summer. Why is it that so few establishments don't have a beer list as they do for wines and cocktails? I asked for the menu and looked it over and my impression is that it is very limited and totally uninspired. Nothing jumped off the pages that said WOW to me. Just average selections prepared with average recipes. The bartender could not tell me what the specials were for the evening and had to send someone to the kitchen to find out. The bartender came back and regretfully said there was only one special for the event which was duck breast served over pasta. No more information as to preparation, ingredients, sauce? Uninspiring. I ordered six littlenecks on the half shell. They arrived pretty much massacred in the shell. It never ceases to amaze me that it is hard to find a restaurant in RI or MA that has a person who knows how to open clams correctly. The "traditional salad" was served next but was hardly traditional. I think of traditional as being mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots, and croutons. The salad I received was spring mix from the bag, sliced roma tomatoes, cucumbers and kalamata olives - hardly traditional. I ordered the baked stuffed shrimp which were four large shrimp with a sweet Maryland crab stuffing served over baked sliced tomato half. The stuffing lacked any flavor as did the tomatoes. Again, uninspiring. Service was efficient and the staff were pleasant and attentive. The ambiance and decor was pleasing. Although, they advertise the four flatscreens in the bar, they are mounted so high and hidden that you can only see them from certain seats. The cost of the meal was not consistent with the quality that was served. There are certainly better restaurants in the greater East Greenwich area.

Had I just arrived in the USA and to Rhode Island and been told that this was a place to go to experience good restaurant food, I would have been disgusted. However, that is not the case and I enjoyed it. The ingredients are possibly mediocre, the cooking of them is perfectly fine. Some impression of fine dining, which might have led some people to be disappointed, but they have salt and pepper pots on the tables and pop music playing so those people would have to be idiots. It is basic food, well prepared and served with a certain degree of pomp. The suggested pairing of food and drink are from a book of theory (brandy only goes with the desert if there is strong flavour to the dessert) and do not work in practise, but I left happier than I arrived. PS: Edited down to three stars on account of the size of the bill. The food should be very good for that price. Also, rated 'Loud' for the poor acoustics.

Astonishingly overpriced - drinks and food. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and entrees to share - it was like we swamped the kitchen! Everything came out overcooked or cold from sitting too long. We sent a few things back because they were so overcooked that the were inedible, and actually had to argue to have them taken off the bill. A party of 5 shouldn't put this kind of restaurant in the weeds on a Thursday night.

Excellent Food! After reading these across-the-spectrum reviews I was curious! And after being taken to lunch for my birthday I'm now a fan. The Pear & Proscuitto Pizza I ordered was a perfect pairing of sweet and savory tastes, and the crust had nice snap. The wine list was full of choices -- my glass of Prosecco was very good -- with something for every wallet. We've eaten out all over the area, because we lived in a hotel for 5 months, and this is one of the best restaurants around.

We came here for small plates and a cocktail and we sat at the bar because the main dining room was booked. The bartenders were busy but pleasant and fairly attentive, and we appreciate the fairly quiet and small TVs. We got the calamari, the grilled tenderloin app and the hummus. The calamari was not greasy and well seasoned and the other two were excellent. Hummus is rarely well made so I was really happy with it. The preparations are simple, but we like the taste of the food to come through rather than over ambitious sauces. Not cheap, but we'll be back again. The left side of the menu definitely has plenty to choose from.

In West Warwick for a couple nights and needed some dinner after the drive up from Philly. A quick check on OpenTable on my phone showed Eleven Forty Nine a mile away. Seeing as it was already late myself and coworker decided to head over. The restaurant is has a very appealing decor both inside and out, although it can be tough to get into the lot as it is only accessible from one direction and the road doesn't have anywhere good to turn around. For dinner I decided that since I had just driven 6 hours my company could handle a steak dinner on my expense report. That being said I went with a NY Strip (called NY Sirloin on the menu, must be a New England thing) and a wedge salad. The steak was very tender, cooked perfectly and loaded with flavor. It was possibly dry-aged although the menu didn't say. The mashed potatoes on the side were also very good. The price was reasonable for the meal, although the glass of cabernet sauvignon I had seemed to be a little over priced. The service was very good and the waitstaff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. All in all it was a good meal and I will definitely be back on a future trip to the area. If they keep the same quality, they may work their way into a 5.

Meh. This was such a good place when it was Paragon. The decor went from warm and cozy with a pretty young crowd, to a much colder seating area with cougars at the bar waiting for their next victim to show up around the corner. I come here often for business lunches because it's convenient : unfortunately it is hard to find anything open in south county when you have visitors from Boston/Prov areas. The menu is bland, the service was unbelievably slow the last visit (took us an hour to get our first plates). For those who remember the original restaurant crew, this is not comparable.

After reading mixed reviews on this one I decided to give it a try. Conveniently, I had met a cute girl a few days prior and I got her to meet me there for drinks. Aesthetically, this place is amazing. After driving by the usual big box BS chain restaurants in the area I never would have expected this level of design (See pics). I sat at the bar and was greeted quickly and cordially. Soon after I was sipping on a well made martini (see pics). Because the reviews I've read have been so inconsistent, I asked my bartender what she recommended from the menu and all I got was, "It's all good!", not much help. So I ordered Avocado and Lobster Cocktail and Grilled Trio which is skewered beef, chicken, and shrimp with yogurt mint dipping sauce. I figured this would be a good sample of what they can do with both seafood and grilled meats. Well, what they can do with seafood is spot on but their meat grilling was a little rough. I'm no Chef but my guess they probably store the chicken and beef of the grilled trio in a marinade which made them a bit tight and tough. The shrimp was easily over cooked. Luckily the Lobster Cocktail was a delight. As far as the mint sauce, well, the flavors worked perfectly but the consistency was a bit watery. All in all I had a great evening. I had no trouble with the quality of service, the architecture and design was brilliant, and the food was, as the star rating suggests, "A-OK".

Chicken cessation salad with fruit. Nothing special, but no complaints. Here for a quick lunch and first impression was that it would be overly pricey for lunch. They had a lunch menu that was ok. Service was maybe a B+.

We hve been here several times and each time we say we will not go back but location is too tempting. Last visit was on new years eve. First clue of a problem should have been we made reservations that afternoon for 7:30. Hostess was pleasant and we were seated right away. Drinks were very good. It wsa a prefixed menu. We ordered and waited, and waited and waited. Server not available or avoiding us. Other parties of 4 seeated after us recieved their main courses. We were having fun given the night but after a while (1 hour) we asked about our order. they said it was coming up and they were back up. the offered us free rond of drinks or another appetizer on the house. We took the drinks. The manager delivered the meals about 15 minutes later. the lobster was way overcooked nad tough. the steak was averge, the pasta was chewy. They never brought the champagne which was included in the prefixed menu. When the bill came the billed us for the "comp drinks" the manager offered us.They said they could not comp us the drinks but offered us two gift certifcates (like we want to return again!). Prices too high for quality of food here. Many other better resteraunts in EG area of course there is a reason you can't find a seat in them but can get a table here.

This is one of the best places I've ever eaten at in Warwick. Do yourself a favor... if you get the 1149 Burger, make sure you haven't eaten all day! I'm updating this review for Emily: The decor of this place is a step above! The entire area is just swamped with chain restaurants with absolutely no soul and uninspired menus. The selection at 1149 is broad but without overpromising and under delivering. The person I went with had a special of the day - a southwestern Tilapia filet. The portions on that meal were generous and according to them not over seasoned with just the right amount of garnishment. The burger I ordered - the 1149 burger was ground prime beef and cooked to order. The portion was huge - probably close to a pound. The ingredients all tasted fresh and the bun felt like it had just been baked. The appearance of the dish was very neat and the fries that accompanied it were cooked perfectly. The mayo was on the side, which I appreciated since the burger itself was so juicy there was very little need for it. The service was phenomenal and the server's wine recommendations were a perfect pairing for the food we ordered. Next time I'm in Warwick, Rhode Island - I will HAVE to stop here.

The filet mignon was excellent and cooked exactly as ordered. The sangria was delicious and huge!

We had our rehearsal dinner at 1149 last night. While the communication with the event coordinator running up to the event was minimal, the event itself went off without a hitch. They let us have the small private dining room near the front of the restaurant on a Friday night, even though we were a small group (15 guests, including 2 children). We had one dedicated server for our group, but when the food was being served there were plenty of others to help her out. Service was prompt and efficient. As for the minimal level of communication, I guess it did the trick. I suppose if you get nervous about things and need lots of hand-holding to get things done, this may not be the place for you. Also, I didn't see the event coordinator or her assistant at all during the evening. Again, everything went smoothly, so this is not a big deal to me. I could see myself having another small event here in the future if the need arises.

1149 was horrifyingly disappointing. I've deduced that the only reason for it's popularity is that there just isn't much competition in the area. It's a beautiful restaurant, the service is very good, but the food is mediocre at best. I could have gotten better food at moderate chain restaurant and paid half as much. The price point is shockingly high for for such mediocrity. It's never a good thing when you pay the check and feel angry that you paid so much for a meal that simply wasn't good. I believe the new 1149 in Seekonk is in real trouble because it will have to contend with tons of other restaurants in close proximity that have more than a pretty facade and attentive service to offer.

I had a nice dinner here with my wife. No special occasion, just dinner. For me it was pricey, but food was fantastic. The only thing that bugged me a little was the look the server gave me when I said I did not want a side salad. It was like I offended him, he was literally shocked. Strange. Otherwise a good time. After dinner sat in the lounge for a drink and enjoyed the live music. I would go back again.

came over to eleven forty nine while out on a client meeting in RI. We had drinks and several appetizer consisting of clams, oysters and calamari if I remember correctly. Ordered Sirloin steak and shrimp. (seems to be the east coast version of surf and turf). I thought my Steak was spot on! Cooked the way I wanted it so I can't complain there. The serve was very good. Granted we had a private room but overall our waiter was prompt, attentive and on point. He made sure we were well fed and always had a fresh drink on hand. More often before we finished the last ones. Bonus points for having Basil Hayden's available. They had some of the other small batch bourbons, not bookers or bakers but Some Basil H and Ginger is a nice tough anywhere you go.

Overpriced for what it is. Parking is annoying and drinks are expensive. Don't waste your time.

To be completely fair, I haven't been to the 1149 for dinner, my first visit (and last) was this Sunday for the much talked about Sunday Brunch. The atmosphere was mediocre at best, the place had a 'morning after kind of feel to it, not dirty, but not sparkling either. Let's get to the important part, the food. The traditional breakfast items were average, but laid out strangely as was all of the food, there was no flow to it. Going along the line, bacon, sausage, homefries, chicken marsala, stuffed scrod, french toast, and seasonal cobbler. Nothing made sense, the "made to order" waffles, weren't made to order, they were in a hot bin, at the carving station. Which bring me to my next point, only 2 choices of meat were offered, I've had a few 'higher end brunch buffets' and at least 3 or 4 more choices seem to be the norm. The 'carve'r didn't want to stay at his station, you had to hope he saw you and came over from talking with either the bar tender or the omlette station guy, just not impressed. The omlette sation guy was none too friendly, a pretty gruff one word answer when I asked him what one the ingredients were, in fact other than the waitress and the hostess that attitude seemed to pervade the establishment. The desserts were okay at best, just a choice of cookies and small pastries. The only item that would get a 4 or 5 star rating from me would be the bloody mary's, which were excellent. In summary, we had a 12;30 reservation, the place was far from full, I wonder if business isn't that good, so they've cut back on the food, as a few items that were on the old menu are now missing. That I know, as we went there on a recomendation from from a friend who was there last year and thought it was good and I found by accident, an old menu which looked great. All in all, 3 adults, 1 child, 4 alcoholic beverages and a bill of $170 including tip. Save your money, there are way better brunches out there!!

Really nice place. Great decor and atmosphere, and they played really great music. The food selection was really good, and the dinner we had was delicious. It was a little crowded, even for a weeknight at 6pm, so I would definitely make reservations if coming on a more popular night. The seem to have live music on the weekends, which I would've gone to if I was ever in RI on the weekend.

I was there 19 sept 2011. I ordered the linguini and clams. A $17 plate. It had no flavor and the clams were like hard rubber. The desert was not much better. I will not return.

I had appetizers or desserts in the bar with my wife a few times so we decided to take my parents there for dinner one night. BIG MISTAKE! First, they sat us at a table big enough for 6 or 8 people even though we had made a reservation a week in advance. Then the food. Not very many good selections but we split some appetizers and each got a different entree. Very pedestrian choices for what they are charging and the food is pretty lackluster. Not terrible but there are a laundry list of restaurants in the area with better food and better prices. I would be interested to see what goes on in the kitchen as my sole may have even been frozen. Service was adequate but the guy was kind of stand-offish. There was also a big group next to us that he and we had to deal with. With all of the nooks, crannies and private rooms you think there would have been a better option. We were so eager to leave we skipped dessert. Then two weeks later I get my credit card bill. They had double charged us for an already over-priced dinner. When I called they said they had a "computer glitch" and it would be credited in 5 to 7 business days. That there were 100+ people affected. I think the right thing to do if you knew there was a problem would be to actually call to let people know what happened and that the problem would be corrected. I will not return but I don't think it will matter. The place seems to be consistently filled with people who don't know or don't care that they are getting ripped off. Also the parking is terrible. There are never enough spaces in the self park area so people will use the valet where there is always space.

Excellent Brunch! My family recently dined at 1149 for their Sunday brunch and we couldn't be more satisfied. Wonderful atmosphere with live jazz being played, clean, and attentive service. We had a reservation and upon arrival our table was ready including a booster seat and coloring book for my son. Fresh and outstanding quality food including a separate omelet, pasta station were everything is customizable and made to order. Carving station had tender and well seasoned prime rib however, I would have preferred ham instead of pork for the second option. The final station was a wide array of breakfast and lunch items including many desert options all fresh, warm, and delicious. My only compliant is that each of these staions are spread apart in all different sections of the restaurant creating an awkward floor plan. At $24.95 a person I felt it was a great value and we can't wait to return.

Brunch was good for the most part: the food was tasty and well-prepared with generally fresh ingredients. Nothing was outstanding though or creative, and the fact that the syrup is not pure, 100% real maple syrup was a huge disappointment (but as someone of French-Canadian heritage, I am a stickler on this). They use what tastes to me like a blend of real maple syrup and cheap imitation fake syrup - not good. The cinnamon buns are a nice surprise though they should be served warm!

exceptional food, great "bar"atmosphere my first few experiences were wonderful! until recently. reservations? why? 8:15 turned into 9:10, why make a reservation? if you intend to enjoy a glass if wine, it will take you 60 seconds to reach the wine... the glass is enormous..and the pouring is skimp! bring your own glass! and never go on a Saturday nt!

I had an errand to run in Cranston at 11am, finished at 12noon and had to be in North Kingstown at 2. I was hungry and thought Eleven Forty Nine might be a nice place to stop for lunch and a glass of wine since I had time to kill and good appetite. I sat alone at the bar. There were 4 other patrons also dining solo there. Upon sitting down, two servers at the end of the bar got into an argument- a pretty loud argument- about end of shift stuff. Very unprofessional. The bartender, a young woman, cared less about me than banter with her coworkers about who was going out where. I had a glass of Merlot which was good for $8/glass and a Caesar Salad with Grilled Shrimp which was WAY overpriced at EIGHTEEN DOLLARS for bad Caesar dressing (not the real deal), skimpy amounts of cheese and JUST THREE grilled shrimp. I wish it were a better experience, because the atmosphere is great. I agree with Jeff H's review- not a very special menu, just the same ol', same ol' :(

overall pretty great. on my most recent visit i got a tuna steak (perfectly cooked) served over a bed of miso spinach (a bit too salty). my favorite item on the menu: the mini pulled pork tacos. it's an app but i usually get two orders as my entree. presentations are lovely. service is good. for some reason the other patrons have been getting rowdier and rowdier every time i go. i appreciate a certain level of silence when i go out, but i accept it has nothing to do with the restaurants management or ownership. in short everything they have control over is usually exceptional.

i only want to comment on the fact that on one occassion i was double charged on my debit card (to the tune of 110 dollars) as was my friend on a different occassion. you are better off to go to an ATM and pay a 3 dollar fee than take a chance .
